Our Journey Thus Far

2000 was the time when the retail gateway to China just opened up to the rest of the world, and the idea of starting a firm which provided solutions and services to help international luxury brands realise their plans to enter and expand in the largely untapped and unfamiliar consumer behaviour market of 1.2b strong, was certainly an exciting, ambitious and lucrative prospect for them, but a dream for me.

Fast forward to present, we know that our approach, know-how and ways-of-working indeed provide our clients the results they dream of.  The store design must represent the brands’ DNA, and the workmanship must reflect and compliment the exquisite craftsmanship of their merchandise.

Our most important mission is to ensure the process from design to completion of construction is managed and executed seamlessly, considering key elements such as budget, costs, schedule, and possible risks involved.

luidesign started at the beginning of the China growth spur and had weathered through the growing pains, and ups and downs of the economies.  Nevertheless, our hard work has been rewarded as we also experienced the satisfaction, exhilaration, and joys of success.

Along the way, we have established ourselves in the industry as an intimate team of trusted professionals with strong work ethics, upholding objectivity and high standards while providing the best possible support to our clients, with the goal of striving the best overall outcome for all stakeholders.


Now after bringing hundreds of shop openings to fruition for many of our clients, we feel privileged to be a part of the matrix of the retail landscape.

Nevertheless, having that said, there are still much more work which needs to be done.  We must continue to adapt and reinvent ourselves and stay relevant in this ever-changing retail environment.

Our Footprint

Our journey has taken us to many cities in China, but we have also been very active in other parts of APAC, leaving our footprints in over 10 countries covering a large number of cities:

Australia, France (New Caledonia), Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, UAE, USA (Guam, Hawaii, New York City, and Saipan), and Vietnam, etc.

The APAC retail landscape has changed both rapidly and drastically since the millennium, and it will keep on evolving and accelerating thanks to omni-channel and globalization, and maybe even effects from opposition to globalization.
